Reserve Bank of India’s 90th Anniversary Celebrated with Grandeur

Mumbai, April 1, 2024: Maharashtra’s Governor Mr. Ramesh Bais played a significant role in the celebratory event marking the 90th anniversary of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Chief Minister Mr. Eknath Shinde, Cabinet Minister Mrs. Nirmala Sitaraman, Mr. Bhagwat Karad, Mr. Pankaj Chaudhary, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Devendra, Mr. Ajit, Reserve Bank Governor Mr. Shaktikanta Das, officials of the Reserve Bank of India, along with other dignitaries, goddesses, and well-wishers graced the occasion with their presence.

Governor Mr. Ramesh Bais stated, “Today, the Reserve Bank of India has reached a historic milestone as it completes its 90 years. As an institution, the RBI has witnessed and contributed to both pre and post-independence eras. Today, the recognition of RBI worldwide is owed to its professionalism and commitment. I extend my congratulations to all the employees and officials of the Reserve Bank of India on completing 90 years of service.”

Chief Minister Mr. Eknath Shinde remarked, “Those associated with RBI today are indeed fortunate. The policies and work undertaken by you will determine the direction of the RBI for the next decade. This decade is crucial for taking this institution towards its centenary year and also for India’s journey towards development.”

Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Devendra highlighted, “Over the past 10 years, we have emphasized the connection between the central bank, the banking system, and the common man. Financial inclusion for the poor is a significant example of this today. There are 52 crore Jan Dhan accounts in the country, and more than 55% of these accounts are in the name of women. This impact of financial inclusion can also be seen in sectors like agriculture and fisheries.”

The celebratory event of the Reserve Bank India’s 90th anniversary held special significance and was celebrated with great pomp and show. This event was not only a cultural and social event for the departments of the state and central government but also for other members of society.
